Hi friends I’m sure that this news will make u to think about our society. Have u ever heard a village without cigarette, paan and liquor? Hei don’t search such a village in any European countries. Its in our country and for our surprise that village is in Tamilnadu. And the name of the village is Pudhupatti. Its situated near Madurai. In this village there is a strict restriction for cigar, paan and liquor, For ever 100 yrs. Do you believe this. But it’s a concrete truth.This is the only village without tasmac in our state. More over there is also ban to smoke in public and to put waste in streets. Its also followed by all the village people without any objection. Moreover eve teasing is also punishable offense. When we contacted the councilor mrs.Azhagupillai she told, our village culture is totally opposite to other villages. Because here women are given equal rights as that of men. She also adds that women can walk instreets without any fear even in midnights. One more interesting news is youngsters in the village don’t smoke or drink.They fully concentrate on their studies and sports. But one more sad thing is now a days some ppl go to the near by village and have started to drink and smoke. But this is minor minor set back for this village. This was told by ms.Ramyawho have got her doctorate. When we saw some women from this village they told that we are happy and we have extra savings as our husband are not smoking or drinking. Really we can see a calmness in their face. As we are all protesting againstsmoking. And our government has imposed ban and fine for smoking in public places. But no one minds that. To the max extend a day against smoking. But this village is carrying out a silent revolution for past 100 yrs, Without any ban or fine. Really we have to salute this village, for their extra ordinary co operation. As we are telling this globe as a village. Lets hope this village’s phenomenon will reach the whole globe one day.

Nagercoil the southernmost town of Tamil Nadu. It is the land of nature the climate of my town will be pleasant throughout the year. Air contains more moisture and we can breathe the cool breeze even in summer’s .Next to nilgiris here only its rains a lot in Tamil Nadu. I think u people can feel the chillness of our town.

Then coming to the culture our culture is a typical blend of Kerala and Tamil Nadu. We used to celebrate Onam as well as Pongal in a grandeur way. The Tamil spoken here is a mix of Malayalam and Tamil, sometimes unintelligible to the people of North Tamil Nadu. Nagercoil enjoys a unique blend of Tamil and Keralite cuisine.

While telling about my native I should also mention about one place which is my favorite in the evening and that is “Putheri” this place have very beautiful scenery. One side is covered by green grass lawn and the other side we can see a lake people used to go for walking and jogging here.

Most famous cuisines are puttu with kadala curry then aapam with cocnut milk. We can also get a rare variety of banana and it is called as matti. You can’t find this variety in any other place of Tamil Nadu.
